Ilias joined RPIA as a Portfolio Manager in 2017, and became a Principal in 2022 and the Head of Investment Grade in 2023. In his role, he focuses on Canadian, U.S., and European investment-grade credit, as well as preferred shares and hybrid securities. Ilias is responsible for assisting with the management of global investment-grade strategies. He is also a member of the firm's Investment Committee.

Previously, Ilias had an extensive career at RBC Dominion Securities, beginning in 2009 as a member of the Wealth Management Generalist Program. As a Generalist, he gained experience in four business units: DS Fixed Income Advisory Desk, Global Asset Management's Investment Policy Group, International Wealth Management's Discretionary Investment Management Group in New York City, and the Canadian Equity Group in Global Asset Management. Following the generalist program, he worked as an execution trader, trading USD and CAD IG and HY (March 2011 - Sept 2012). From September 2012 to March 2014, he worked as a Fixed Income Strategist, advising the firm's largest investment advisors and discretionary portfolio managers on portfolio construction and security selection for CAD and USD fixed income. Ilias then joined RBC Capital Markets in March 2014 as a VP in Credit Sales, covering global hedge funds, asset managers, and central banks for CAD credit trading.
